New works available

New works available on eBay. <-Clicky

Will have more available soon. I have been working with smaller canvases and canvas board to make the paintings more affordable. I still spend a lot of time on each piece but the materials, shipping materials and size make it so I can sell at a lower cost.

Been a very productive month. I took a few weeks off from the studio to pursue a few ideas. One was a company for a side project called "Ugly dog"(picture to the right) Still working on the packaging and the legal paperwork. Fun Fun! It's a spice company for men who love unique blends for dips, rubs and sauces. I guarantee you one of the hottest chip dips you have ever tasted! lol. Also a nice Chipotle rub for pork and chicken... a blend from heaven...Mmmm.

I also created a cartoon strip for my paintball addiction called "Weekend Warriors". I will show a sneak peak of that sometime soon.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

grrrr

I keep forgetting about this whole blogging thing. I guess Facebook has made it easy for all of us to communicate and keep connected.

I am in talks with a company who I will be using prints of my work soon. Its a new concept for the art world and I am eager to start.

Happy New year everyone!

emo mood

The best paintings are the ones that make you cry when you're finished painting them.

New paintings and ideas are flowing effortlessly lately. I think I am at that creative stage again due to the upcoming show.

I have been shutting off my internet around noon everyday until 9ish. That damn Facebook is a time killer. Plus some of the websites I read on a daily bases...etc. I think I could kill an entire day reading Fark and Lamebook.

I need to focus.

It's 11:11 make a wish!

Day 2

Day 2 of my semi seclusion and preparation for my show "Winterland" to be held at The Charles Inn in Bangor, ME on Nov 27th.

Had a late start today, our cat seems to be ready to pass to the next world. Gizmo is a 20 year old beast. Very frail and fragile ATM. But as of 12 noon she has been up and walking around.

Will be working on a few paintings today. Yesterday was spent prepping canvases and sketching. I hope to get things started but things are already overwhelming right now with the amount of projects that need to be accomplished before the show. It's all good.

I need to find a goat.

Day 1

I have decided to bring this journal back from the dead.

I recently ended my website robertdowlingstudios.com. I never used it nor did I ever update it. Facebook is where all the action is. Instead of filling peoples FB page with my boring rants and daily mumbles I will now journal them here.

For the next two months I will practically be living in the studio getting ready for my first solo show in 4 years. November 27th in Bangor, Maine is the date and location. More details coming soon.

I plan on updating this daily to record my time while on this two month journey. Now I must go breath in some paint fumes and prep a few canvases and stretchers. Until later...
